Missouri punter Riley Williams enters NCAA Transfer Portal

The Missouri Tigers are coming off one of the biggest wins in school history on Friday night, after they defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes 14-3 in the 2023 Cotton Bowl. Their starting punter, Riley Williams, decided to officially enter the NCAA Transfer Portal on Saturday night, On3 has learned.

This season, he averaged 40.2 yards per punt on 28 punts, booming a long of 53 yards. Williams also had five punts inside the 20-yard line. He hails from Australia, something that has become the trend in college football for several years now for punters. A dynamic athlete, he also played cricket and swam for his high school.

Before Missouri, Williams spent his freshman campaign at Towson in 2022, earning second team All-CAA honors. He averaged 44.7 yards per punt, ranking him fourth in the nation. In 2022, he also boomed two punts of more than 60 yards and 16 punts of 50 or more yards. Williams had five games where he averaged at least 47 yards per punt, placing 13 punts inside the 20-yard line.
