Missouri quarterback Gabarri Johnson decided to test the portal waters on Friday night, as he officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. In the 2023 cycle, Johnson was rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 350 overall recruit in the country, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

Johnson did not play at all in the 2023 campaign for the Tigers, opting to use a redshirt in his first year. He’ll have four years of eligibility left.

It’s certainly not a surprise to see him transfer elsewhere, as Brady Cook has the starting job locked up for the Tigers and he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Cook was once again dominant this year, throwing for 3,189 yards, while tossing in 20 touchdowns with six interceptions. As a runner, he ran for 253 yards and eight touchdowns.

Johnson shined during his time with Lincoln High School (Tacoma, Washington), where he guided them to a 11-1 finish his senior year. They made it all the way to the 3A state quarterfinals before falling to Bellevue. During his four seasons with Lincoln, they finished with a 22-1 record against the district competition.
