Missouri running back Kewan Lacy plans to enter the Transfer Portal
Missouri Tigers running back Kewan Lacy plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Kewan Lacy played one season with the Tigers. In that time, he had 23 carries for 104 yards. That’s an average of 4.5 yards per carry. He also had two receptions for nine yards. While that wasn’t enough to lead Missouri in rushing, it did flash plenty of potential for the future.
After playing his high school football at Lancaster in Texas, Kewan Lacy was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the 16th-ranked running back and the 184th-ranked recruit overall in that recruiting cycle.
With his decision to transfer after his freshman season, Kewan Lacy will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Among Missouri’s running backs, Kewan Lacy was fourth on the team in rushing. Nate Noel, a senior, led the Tigers in rushing with 804 yards. Marcus Carroll and Jamal Roberts then rushed for 578 yards and 214 yards respectively. Carroll was a senior while Roberts was a freshman for 2024.

As a team, Missouri was 55th in the country in rushing offense, at 170.75 yards per game. That was also good for seventh in the SEC last season. They also had 25 rushing touchdowns.
Missouri and the Transfer Portal
The Transfer Portal opened for one of two windows available in the offseason for players to enter on December 9th. That window comes alongside bowl preparation and high school recruiting for coaches to manage. Players will also have the opportunity to enter the Transfer Portal following the Spring window.
With the addition of Kewan Lacy to the Transfer Portal, Missouri has now lost 10 players to the Transfer Portal to this point. However, only three of those players are coming from the offensive side of the ball. One player, wide receiver Kevin Coleman, has committed to play for Missouri already.
