Missouri senior safety Stacy Brown was arrested early Monday morning on multiple charges, including suspicion of possession and delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, University of Missouri police confirmed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Tuesday.

Stacy – a 6-foot-2, 205-pound defender out of Duncanville, Texas – was stopped in his vehicle by police at 1:09 a.m. Monday for a traffic violation. Following the investigation by the officer, Stacy was arrested on charges of speeding 16 to 19 mph over the speed limit, possession of controlled substance, delivery of controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm. According to a Missouri statute, being in possession of both a firearm and a controlled substance is sufficient for a felony violation.

Brown, a former On3 Consensus three-star recruit who made 10 total tackles for the Tigers in 2021, was taken to the Boone County Jail and had his bond set at $13,000. He’s since been indefinitely suspended from the team.

“We’re aware of the situation involving Stacy Brown,” Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz said in a statement released by the school. “He is suspended, per athletics department policy. We’ll continue to gather information and determine the best course of action.”
