Missouri first-year Zxaequan “Snoop” Reeves announced his plans to enter the transfer portal on Tuesday afternoon. Reeves, a cornerback, spent just one year in Columbia and is now looking for a new home. The Titusville, Fla. native didn’t post any stats in 2021.

As a first-time transfer, Reeves will have immediate eligibility at the school of his choice and he’ll have four years to play four seasons. He wore No. 20 for the Tigers in 2021.

The 6-foot-1, 201-pound corner chose Missouri in the summer before his senior season at Cocoa High School. He was a three-star prospect, according to the On3 Consensus. Mizzou was his only SEC offer coming out of high school but he also had Power Five offers from Washington State and Virginia. Home state schools like Florida Atlantic and Florida A&M also offered.

Reeves enters NCAA transfer portal

The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.

The process of entering the portal goes through a school’s compliance office. Once a player provides written notification of an intent to transfer, the office enters the player’s name in the database. The compliance office has 48 hours to comply with the player’s request.

Once a player’s name shows up in the portal, other schools can contact the player. Players can change their minds at any point and withdraw from the portal. However, once a player enters the portal, the current scholarship is no longer valid. In other words, if a player enters the portal but decides to stay, the school does not have to reoffer a scholarship.
