Theo Wease wears Texas A&M blanket on field after trash talk, letter from Will Lee
Trash talk in college football is part of what makes the sport so great, but rarely is it as pointed as it was at Missouri receiver Theo Wease ahead of a game against Texas A&M.
On Friday night, Wease received a blanket and a letter as he arrived in the team hotel.
The blanket was full Texas A&M colors and the letter featured a message, allegedly from Texas A&M defensive back Will Lee. It read: “Get used to this blanket. It will be real tomorrow.”
Apparently Wease took the advice to heart.
The Missouri receiver broke out the blanket ahead of the game, wrapping it around his shoulders during pregame on the field in College Station. Check it out below.
That means at least one matchup in today’s contest between Missouri and Texas A&M will be appointment television.
Theo Wease is off to a strong start to the season entering Week 6. He leads Mizzou with 287 receiving yards as he works opposite Luther Burden at the wide receiver position. He’s coming off an impressive debut season in Columbia after transferring from Oklahoma, totaling 682 yards and six touchdowns as one of Brady Cook’s top targets.

Missouri is gearing up for an interesting matchup with Texas A&M on multiple fronts. The expectation is Marcel Reed will again get the start while Conner Weigman works his way back from a shoulder injury suffered in the season opener – meaning Mizzou will be going up against the brother of one of its staffers.
Eli Drinkwitz joked assistant director of on-field recruiting Briah Reed wouldn’t be able to watch practice this week ahead of the game. He called it an “interesting dynamic,” but Missouri later posted a picture of Drinkwitz with Reed and fellow staffer Ella Guerrero at Wednesday’s practice ahead of the Texas A&M game.
“It’s created an interesting dynamic. At the end of the day that’s her brother and that’s her blood, and we know that she’s doing her job here,” Drinkwitz said. “But family is always so important and so we don’t want her to be in any type of conflict of interest. In fact I just saw her in the hallway just a second ago. But I’m not letting her in the copy room and she’s sure not going to have her eyes on the scouting report.”
