Top-50 prospect Aidan Shaw recommits to Missouri
Missouri fans receive tremendous news on Wednesday afternoon, after re-landing the commitment of Aidan Shaw. The 6-foot-8 small forward out of Stilwell (Kan.) Blue Valley reopened his recruitment in March after the firing of men’s head basketball coach, Cuonzo Martin.
Shaw is ranked as the No. 52 overall prospect in the class of 2022 — the Tigers’ highest-ranked prospect in the last five recruiting classes. The last time the Tigers landed a prospect of Shaw’s caliber was in 2017 after landing a top-5 recruiting class, highlighted by Michael Porter Jr., his brother, Jontay, and a top-50 big man in Jeremiah Tilmon.
When Shaw backed off his pledge to the Tigers, he received interest from several programs, including Wisconsin, DePaul, Arizona State, Creighton, TCU, Texas Tech, Maryland, Iowa State, NC State, and others.
Shaw breaks down his decision to recommit to Mizzou
After careful consideration, Aidan Shaw decided to stick with what he knew best and re-committed to Mizzou and the new coaching staff led by Dennis Gates.

What was it about Mizzou that made him want to stick with the program?
“I would definitely say Coach Gates,” Shaw explained. “After talking to him and building a relationship, his ideas and the way he coaches and the way he’s building this program, I just feel like it’s the spot for me.”
What was Coach Gates’ pitch to convince Shaw to “return” to Columbia?
“My goal is to reach the league, and he convinced me that with his mindset, he knows what he’s doing and he’s going to push me to my limit and help me reach my goals.”
