UCLA transfer guard Sebastian Mack commits to Missouri

Former UCLA guard Sebastian Mack is taking his talents to the SEC, committing to join the Missouri Tigers via the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He spent two years with the Bruins and made 30 starts as a freshman.

Mack averaged 9.6 points per game across 34 appearances this past season, including one start. That came after an impressive freshman year in Westwood when he averaged 12.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Mack turned in his best performance of the 2024-25 campaign in December. He put up 22 points in 27 minutes as UCLA lost a close one to North Carolina in the West Coast Hoops Showdown. Now, he’ll be looking for continued success as he moves to Dennis Gates‘ Missouri squad.

Moreover, Sebastian Mack played high school basketball at Las Vegas (Nev.) Coronado, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 61 overall player and No. 2-ranked recruit in the state of Nevada from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Mack was one of many UCLA players to enter the transfer portal after their season ended with a loss to Tennessee in the second round of March Madness. Forwards William Kyle and Devin Williams also opted to transfer once the portal window opened, and guard Dylan Andrews also hit the open market. Kyle announced his commitment to Syracuse earlier, as well.

However, UCLA made a big splash earlier in the offseason. The Bruins landed a commitment from former New Mexico star Donovan Dent – the Mountain West Player of the Year and No. 2-ranked transfer so far this cycle, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. Dent averaged 20.4 points, 6.4 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game this past season while shooting 40.9-percent from three-point range

UCLA went 23-11 overall this past season, including a 13-7 record in the Bruins’ first year in the Big Ten. They made the NCAA Tournament as a No. 7 seed and handily defeated Utah State in the Round of 64. However, Tennessee proved to be too much as UCLA suffered the 67-58 loss. Now, Sebastian Mack is moving on, and the Bruins will have to rebound without him next season.
