Blake Horvath fires back at Jeff Monken, Pat McAfee after Navy win over Army
Navy QB Blake Horvath had the last laugh when it came to beating Army and head coach Jeff Monken. Heck, the Midshipmen star even took a dig at Pat McAfee.
This dates back to October, well before Navy’s 31-13 win Saturday afternoon. Monken asked if Navy still even had a football program when he joined The Pat McAfee Show.
Well, they definitely do according to Horvath.
“I guess we do still have a football program,” he wrote on Twitter.
For context, Monken was asked by McAfee what would happen if Army and Navy met in the AAC Championship game, prior to their annual clash. Army went on to win the conference while Navy had to sit and wait for December 14th.
Horvath kept receipts.
“Do they still have a football program at that school,” Monken asked. “We’re gonna worry about this game this weekend. It’s the only one we can do anything about and East Carolina’s got a good football team, well coached team. And I assure you that it’s the only game we’re concerning ourselves with right now.”

Horvath was just four of nine passing for 107 yards, but threw two touchdowns. But as he did all season, he was dominant on the ground.
Horvath ran 25 times for 204 yards and two touchdowns, running away from Army’s defense to break the two game losing streak against their rivals.
It looks like it won’t be a great year for Monken and Army now. Horvath saved his best for last beating the Black Knights.
Navy leads the all-time series 63-55-7 and won 14 straight games from 2002-15. Now, they can claim the Commander in Chief Trophy going into 2025.
