ESPN College GameDay often brings out some truly heart-warming stories about college football players, highlighting different elements of their personal lives to show it’s about more than just the game.

It also sometimes shares hilarious anecdotes.

And on Saturday, Navy quarterback Blake Horvath was the focal point of the latter. The College GameDay crew wasted no time in getting to the point while interviewing Horvath on the field at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

“Blake, I heard that you have a sister who once punched you in the face and after she did that you were very thankful that she did that to you,” host Desmond Howard said. “Explain that story to us, Blake, please.”

Horvath quickly broke out in a big grin as he paced the field, headset in ear listening to the question.

Then he launched into the story.

“Yeah, when I was really young, I was messing around, accidentally got a toy stuck up my nose,” Horvath said. “Never told anyone about it. Seven years later, got in a fight with my sister. She rocked me right in the face. The next day the toy fell out of my nose. So thank you, Rachel, for punching me in the face. Just like all the brothers out there have probably experienced before.”

Hard to say exactly how many brothers have had toys dislodged from their noses by their sisters, but it was a hilarious moment that had the College GameDay crew in stitches.

For his part, Horvath has been lights out for Navy this season, leading the Midshipmen to a 6-0 start. They’ll face their biggest test yet on Saturday, taking on Notre Dame at noon.

Needless to say, they’ll need the best from Horvath. The good news is he can now breathe just fine thanks to his sister. He looked perfectly at ease on College GameDay.

“Yeah, so my sister, first off, shoutout Rachel,” Horvath said. “She’s been not loving that every single story about her has been punching me in the face.”
