Brennan Armstrong happy with progress he’s seen from NC State offense
Brennan Armstrong made the choice to take his talents to NC State over the offseason, and he couldn’t be happier to be with the Wolfpack.
The former Virginia Cavaliers quarterback is elated with the way he’s growing inside his new team’s offense, and believes the sky is the limit moving forward. Speaking with the media, Armstrong explained what he currently believes regarding his unit’s abilities.
“I’m very happy where we’re at,” started the freshly-minted NC State signal caller. “A lot of guys — I think it just comes down to the willingness of the guys. I think they’re willing to work and get better, and they understand you know, I think with just Coach and I’s pedigree, I guess with what he did last year against the defense, and how good the defense was.
“There’s just a lot of like, ‘Okay, if we work really hard and we do this on ourselves, we put this on ourselves then we can really make this thing special.’ So I think it just comes down to the players, and they’ve been great so far.”
Additionally, one of the things that Armstrong thinks is helping the offense’s progress is the capability of the NC State defense. Iron sharpens iron, and that’s definitely the case for NC State.

“That’s another thing, I was like, Listen, there’s going to be some ups and downs at practices. We’re playing against a good defense. Definitely the top in the ACC. We just got to keep working. Don’t get flustered by anything, no matter what it is,” added Armstrong. “I mean, we’re installing an offense right now, and they’re full throttle coming at us. It’s going to make us better. There’s a lot of things that they do that other teams don’t, and there’s a lot of things that this offense does that this defense kind of stops, but other defenses aren’t going to stop these things.
“So there’s a lot of things that we can work off of each other, but it helps us in the long run.”
Last season, Armstrong never quite clicked with Virginia’s first-year head coach Tony Elliott. He would finish 2022 with 2210 passing yards, while completing 185 of his 338 pass attempts, only having seven touchdowns to 12 interceptions.
In a new, more comfortable position at NC State, Brennan Armstrong could find a high level of play once again, and the Wolfpack certainly think it’s going to happen.
