Duke was able to leave Raleigh with a win over NC State, but that didn’t stop some Wolfpack fans from making their mark on the game.

The Blue Devils used a strong second half, where they outscored NC State by 12, to elevate themselves to a 79-64 victory over the Wolfpack. However, the rivalry remains strong, and that was evident by some fans for the Wolfpack trolling Duke star Kyle Filipowski and ESPN’s Jay Bilas.

During the broadcast, when the camera panned to Bilas, an NC State fan was able to show the camera a visible picture of Filipowski in pain after the Wake Forest court storming earlier in February.

Of course, the photo has taken on a life of it’s own, as some have called Filipowski out for embellishing, causing a gigantic discourse, led by Bilas, to end court storming once and for all. Check out the photo below, of the small win from NC State on Monday.

In the end, funny is funny, and this NC State fan completed a masterful troll of Filipowski and Bilas in one fell swoop. While the Wolfpack weren’t able to use it as motivation to defeat the No. 9 team in the country, maybe they’ll have another shot at their conference rival in the ACC Tournament.

Regardless, Duke is turning their attention to the North Carolina Tar Heels, as they’ll welcome them to Durham on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, NC State finishes their season at Pittsburgh on Saturday, where both teams will be hoping for a win to strengthen their resumes.

Jon Scheyer credits Duke for fighting back vs. NC State after slow start

Meanwhile, it wasn’t the best start for Duke on Monday night against NC State, but coach Jon Scheyer was proud of how his team responded. The Blue Devils fell behind 9-0 but battled back to take a 33-30 lead into halftime.

Duke played most of the first half without star forward Kyle Filipowski, who picked up two early fouls and was limited to just four minutes while going 0-for-2 from the field. Tyrese Proctor nailed a couple of late 3-pointers and finished the half with 11 points to lead the Blue Devils in Filipowski’s absence.

Speaking with ESPN, Scheyer offered his thoughts on how Duke managed to get through the many obstacles thrown at it early.

“We fought,” he said. “That was a crazy, disjointed half. You’re playing the whole half without Flip. I thought we did some good things, we just have to be poised against them. They’re good. They can make you play a different style. We just need to regroup here and come back in the second half and fight like we did at the end of the first half.”

In the end, the Blue Devils would hang on for a much needed win over the Wolfpack, continuing their tremendous play while gaining a nice victory over their conference rival on Monday.
