NC State infielder Ryan Jaros enters the NCAA transfer portal

NC State infielder Ryan Jaros has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Jaros spent just one season with the Wolfpack.
He originally enrolled at Georgia Tech, where he played on an off for a year before hitting the transfer portal. Now he’ll be back in the portal with a little more experience this time around.
Ryan Jaros played in 33 games for NC State this season, starting 19 of them. He hit .333 at the plate, showing a nice knack for putting the ball in play. He hit four doubles and three home runs, knocking in 17 RBI in the process. He scored 18 runs.
As a freshman at Georgia Tech in 2024, Jaros appeared in 26 games. He started 11 of them.
During that time, Ryan Jaros averaged .343 at the plate. He had four doubles and a home run, driving in eight RBI and scoring nine times himself.
Suffice it to say, he’s a talented enough infielder who will draw some serious looks out of the NCAA transfer portal as he seeks a more permanent home. Could it be outside of the ACC this time around? We’ll see, but Ryan Jaros is far from the only player seeking a new home this portal cycle.
Virginia losing several to the portal
While Ryan Jaros is headed out of NC State, several players are on their way out of ACC peer Virginia. The departure of coach Brian O’Connor to Mississippi State has led to several players seeking a fresh start as well.

Virginia baseball UTL Aidan Teel has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Teel’s portal entry comes with a ‘do not contact’ tag. He is expected to head to Mississippi State.
Teel pitched, fielded and slugged for the Cavaliers during his time with the program. He spent three seasons with Virginia.
During the 2025 season, Teel appeared in 50 games for Virginia. Across 233 plate appearances, Teel logged 59 hits, scored 51 runs, knocked in 40 RBIs, stole nine bases and hit seven home runs.
He will join a Mississippi State baseball team that just hired his head coach at Virginia, Brian O’Connor. During his time with the Cavaliers, he led the program to a College World Series title in 2015 and made seven total trips to Omaha. He just completed his 21st season in Charlottesville but is now headed to Mississippi State, where he’ll replace Chris Lemonis and is now bringing his Virginia players over to the SEC with him.
