NC State TE Juice Vereen plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
NC State tight end Juice Vereen plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. Vereen spent the past two seasons with the Wolfpack and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
The tight end appeared in 10 games as a true freshman but would go on to play only two games this past year. That allowed him to used a redshirt season to preserve a year of eligibility.
Vereen flashed his potential in a game against Notre Dame as a true freshman, leading NC State with four catches for 65 yards. However, those would be the only stats he recorded in his career with the Wolfpack.
Vereen was a four-star prospect in the 2023 class out of Havelock (NC) High School. He ranked as the No. 319 overall player and No. 18 tight end in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Juice Vereen is the sixth NC State player to enter the transfer portal. He joins names such as receiver Kevin Cocepcion, who led the Wolfpack in receiving yards as a true freshman in 2023.
NC State is coming off of a 6-6 season that marks its worst record since 2019. Vereen can officially enter his name in the portal when it opens on Dec. 9.
The transfer portal will remain open until Dec. 28, though players on teams still playing in the postseason will get an additional five-day window to enter the portal after their seasons end.

NC State WR Kevin Concepcion plans to enter transfer portal
NC State sophomore wide receiver Kevin Concepcion is set to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Dec. 8, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The 2023 ACC Rookie of the Year logged 53 receptions for 460 yards and six touchdowns in his second season with the Wolfpack. Concepcion is the first NC State player to intend to enter the transfer portal this offseason.
Concepcion, who emerged as an all-around playmaker last fall, struggled to find a groove this season. Teams were able to scheme against his skill set, oftentimes double teaming him as a wide receiver and sniffing out any rushing attempts the Wolfpack drew up for him.
The Charlotte, N.C., native had a season-best nine receptions for 121 yards and three touchdowns in the Wolfpack’s season-opening win over Western Carolina, but he was not able to record more than 53 receiving yards in any game over the final 11 contests.
