NC State trending for 4-star safety Jordan Young
Just over two months away from his scheduled commitment announcement on Oct. 12, NC State is trending to land Monroe (N.C.) four-star safety Jordan Young, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction Monday afternoon favoring the Wolfpack to land Young’s commitment. NC State now leads in the RPM at 83%.
The 6-foot-0, 180-pound Young is the nation’s No. 119 overall prospect, No. 12 safety and No. 4 recruit from North Carolina in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He took his official visit to Raleigh over the June 19 weekend. That OV was in addition to official visits to Clemson, Florida State and Michigan.
Young made another visit to NC State at the end of July for the Wolfpack’s end-of-July recruiting weekend.

“They were my first offer,” Young previously told On3. “They were the first school that ever believed in me, and they’re the only school that gave me the chance to play both sides of the ball…It’s an in-state school, so I know a lot of good things come from staying home.”

“If they get me down on campus, that’s a really big deal at this point…It feels comfortable,” Young said. “I love it.”
As things stand, Young would be the highest-rated recruit to join NC State’s 2025 recruiting class. Marshville (N.C.) Forest Hills four-star wide receiver Jerel Bolder is currently the lone blue-chip prospect pledged to the Wolfpack.
Elsewhere in the defensive secondary, NC State holds commitments from three-star cornerback Cam Strong, three-star cornerback Caden Gordon and three-star safety Tristan Teasdell.
