Missouri offensive tackle Valen Erickson has committed to play for NC State out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. A big pickup for head coach Dave Doeren as he will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Despite being in college for the past two seasons, Erickson has not seen a minute of game action yet. The offensive tackle did play during the 2022 season, taking a redshirt year under head coach Eli Drinkwitz. According to Mizzou’s official roster, Erickson entered the portal in the middle of the season.

NC State is never going to complain about adding some size to their offensive line. Erickson comes in at 6-5 and weighs over 300 pounds. Exactly the type of size you need up there.

Erickson played high school football at Chicago (IL) St. Rita, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 809 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
