2025 ATH Jackson Carpenter commits to Nebraska
Lincoln (Neb.) Southwest three-star athlete Jackson Carpenter has committed to Nebraska, he tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
He chose the hometown Cornhuskers over Kansas. He is the son of former Nebraska tight end Tim Carpenter.
Carpenter is the No. 408 overall prospect and No. 20 athlete in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Nebraska.

“I have developed relationships with all of them and I trust all of them with my choice to commit to Nebraska. Obviously, I feel like this is the right choice,” Carpenter told Husker Online.
Carpenter becomes the fourth addition to Matt Rhule’s 2025 pledge list, joining a trio of fellow in-state prospects. He becomes the highest-ranked commit in the class and is flanked by Omaha North three-star defensive lineman Tyson Terry, Omaha Millard North three-star safety Caden VerMaas and Wahoo Bishop Neumann three-star running back Conor Booth.

It was an eventful finish to the 2024 cycle for the Huskers back in December. Rhule and Co. managed to flip Buford (Ga.) five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, the No. 21 overall recruit and No. 3 signal-caller in the nation.

Raiola and Logan (Iowa) Magnolia four-star interior offensive lineman Grant Brix headline a class consisting of 27 signees, which ranked No. 24 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. DeSoto (Texas) four-star cornerback Mario Buford is the other four-star signee in the mix for the Huskers.
Earlier this week, Nebraska recruiting insider Sean Callahan joined On3’s Josh Newberg to detail the Huskers’ efforts for some of their top 2025 prospects, including Orange (Calif.) Lutheran four-star QB TJ Lateef:
“He’s really been their primary quarterback target for quite some time,” Callahan said. “They have him coming in for his official visit for them spring game. So they’ll get a semi-home game day weekend to bring him in, where there’s gonna be over 70,000 fans at that spring game, so they’ll have a great stage, hopefully great weather to showcase the program to TJ Lateef.”
Nebraska is currently trending for Lateef, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. He visited Colorado earlier this month and is also being courted by the likes of Arizona, Auburn, Ole Miss and others. Lateef is the No. 280 overall prospect and No. 24 QB in the 2025 cycle.
