4-star RB Ajay Allen schedules Nebraska official visit
Four-star running back Ajay Allen Jr. is one of the few remaining four-star running back recruits that has yet to sign. That’s true, even though the 5-foot-10, 170-pounder from Monroe (La.) Neville has been a longtime commitment to TCU.
And since he’s still on the board, Allen confirmed he plans to take an official visit this upcoming weekend to Nebraska. Nebraska signed a running back during the early signing period, earning the commitment of Minnesota three-star running back Emmett Johnson on National Signing Day.
The Huskers have zeroed in on Allen after Bryan Applewhite was announced as Nebraska’s running backs coach last week. Applewhite was Allen’s primary recruiter at TCU. Allen said Applewhite was a big reason why he committed to the Horned Frogs in the first place.
“I look forward to being coached by coach Applewhite,” Allen said when he originally committed on Aug. 8.
Who else is recruiting Ajay Allen?
Other schools have stayed in contact with Ajay Allen, including Alabama and Mississippi State.
It appeared at one point that Allen was going to make it to Tuscaloosa for an official visit, but those plans fizzled out. He did, though make it to Mississippi State for a Dec. 4 visit. The Bulldogs are still targeting Allen full speed and could be the biggest threat to TCU and Nebraska in the race to land the eventual signature on the letter of intent.
