Arizona Wildcats defensive back Marquis Groves-Killebrew has committed to transfer to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, On3 has learned.

Groves-Killebrew played his high school football at North Cobb in Georgia. There, he was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the 16th-ranked cornerback and the 125th-ranked player nationally in that recruiting cycle.

Nebraska will be the fourth school in four seasons of college football for Groves-Killebrew. He began his career at Texas A&M before transferring to Louisville and later Arizona. Now, he will continue on at Nebraska.

In 10 games with Arizona, Groves-Killebrew had 26 total tackles, including a tackle for loss and a sack. He also had four passes defended over the course of the season.

The 2024 season was a frustrating one for Arizona, going just 4-8 in the first season for Brent Brennan at the program It was a disappointment. The Wildcats’ defense had its issues throughout the season too, ranking 109th in scoring defense after giving up 31.8 points per game. The secondary’s issues were a key piece of those overall issues, finishing 103rd in passing defense after giving up 239 passing yards per game.

Now, Groves-Killebrew is joining a Nebraska team coming off a 7-6 season that saw the Cornhuskers go to their first bowl game since 2016. That was a major step forward in year two for the program under head coach Matt Rhule as Nebraska looks to return to the top of the sport.

Rhule has been using the Transfer Portal as one of the major ways that he’s looking to improve the roster for his third season in Lincoln. The 2025 Nebraska transfer class currently ranks 46th this cycle in the 2025 On3 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. It’s a recruiting class that includes 25 players who have already left the program and 14 who have entered the program. That number doesn’t yet include Groves-Killebrew and it is also expected that Matt Rhule adds more players through the Transfer Portal to sure up the roster.

Groves-Killebrew has two seasons of eligibility remaining after using a redshirt in his freshman season at Texas A&M.
