Brice Williams surpasses 1,000-point milestone in Nebraska career

Brice Williams is now part of an exclusive club in Nebraska basketball history. Thanks to a high-scoring performance against Michigan on Monday, he became the 32nd Cornhuskers player to surpass 1,000 points in his career with the school.
Williams achieved the feat early in the second half after scoring his 22nd points of the evening. At the time, Nebraska trailed 32-29 and no other player had scored more than two points.
The 6-foot-7 wing has scored 30 or more points only twice this season, but ultimately finished just short of that mark with 26 on Monday. He unfortunately cooled after his hot start as the Cornhuskers lost 49-46 after a the potential game-tying 3-pointer missed.
If you combine his first three seasons at Charlotte with his two at Nebraska, Williams has a total of 1,805 points for his college career.

Williams began his career at Charlotte before transferring to Nebraska ahead of the 2023-24 season. He has taken a huge leap forward this season to average a career-high 19.4 points along with 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
The loss was a big blow for Nebraska, which is on the NCAA Tournament bubble with a 17-11 (7-10 Big Ten record). Williams gave all he could and certainly can’t be faulted after scoring more than half of the team’s points.
The Cornhuskers were among the first four out according to On3’s latest bracketology predicitons. Monday was their last opportunity at a ranked win on their schedule, so they’ll need to win at least two of their remaining three games and likely some in the Big Ten Tournament to get in.
Next up for Nebraska is a game against Minnesota at 1 p.m. CT on Monday.
