California transfer wide receiver Nyziah Hunter commits to Nebraska Cornhuskers
California transfer wide receiver Nyziah Hunter committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Thursday evening, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. He hauled in 40 catches for 578 receiving yards and five touchdowns this year in his freshman campaign.
He hauled in a pair of touchdowns against Auburn, marking the first time a Cal player has had two touchdown catches in a game since Jeremiah Hunter at UCLA in 2023. Hunter posted career highs in yards receiving (85) and longest reception (35 yards) against the Beavers.

Nyziah Hunter is a former four-star recruit with three years of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-2 and 210-pound wideout accumulated 40 receptions on 56 targets for 578 yards and five touchdowns playing in the ACC last season. Hunter finished the season with a 28.6 percent explosive catch rate.
The wideout was an efficient deep ball weapon with seven receptions on 11 targets on throws of 20-plus air yards, according to PFF data. The wideout led a top-35 passing success rate offense in receiving yards.

With Hunter joining the Cornhuskers, he’ll be joining one of the game’s bright young stars in quarterback Dylan Raiola. As a freshman, Raiola completed 66.6% of his passes for 2,595 passing yards, while tossing in 12 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. In the 2024 cycle, Raiola was rated as a five-star prospect and the No. 3 quarterback in America, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
