Chubba Purdy shares message to Husker Nation after entering transfer portal
Chubba Purdy has addressed his decision to enter the transfer portal. The Nebraska transfer officially hit the open market on Wednesday, as On3 previously reported.
Purdy started his college career at Florida State and transferred to Nebraska ahead of the 2022 season. All told, he spent two years in Lincoln under Scott Frost and Matt Rhule, throwing for 529 yards and two touchdowns during that span.
A day after he officially entered the portal, Purdy shared a message for Husker Nation via social media.
“Thank you Nebraska and thank you Husker Nation for all your support,” Purdy wrote on X. “I have entered the portal and have 2 years left of eligibility. God bless you all.”
Purdy appeared in four games at Florida State from 2020-21, completing 32 of 58 passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns before transferring to Nebraska. News of his decision came hours after top-rated quarterback recruit Dylan Raiola signed with the Cornhuskers, On3’s Pete Nakos reported.
Chubba Purdy — younger brother of Brock Purdy — played high school football at Gilbert (AZ) Perry, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 211 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
