Class of 2024 wide receiver Jacory Barney of Miami (FL) Palmetto High announced his commitment to Nebraska Saturday evening.

The 6-foot, 165 pounder chose the Cornhuskers over Miami and Texas A&M.

Barney on why he chose Nebraska

“What stood out is the way that they’ve been recruiting me since the start and been on me. They realized I was the one and believed in me and I went up there. It just felt like a home away from home. I loved the staff.  The  whole staff has shown me love and stressing how I can contribute to the Matt Rhule era and winning in the Big 10.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“I’m closest with Coach McGuire, Coach Cooper,  and Coach Simp. They’re my dudes. I believe in them and I know for sure they believe in me. They know getting this Florida talent in Lincoln is big. We are going to turn the program around.”

Barney ranks as the No. 416 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 71 wide receiver and the No. 59 player in the state of Florida.

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
