Class of 2025 defensive lineman Tyson Terry of Omaha (NE) North announced his commitment to Nebraska Friday night.

The 6-foot-3, 275 pounder chose the Cornhuskers over Iowa, Kansas State, and Iowa State.

Terry on why he chose Nebraska

“The final factor of Nebraska was the relationships I have with the coaches,” Terry said. “I believe I built an incredible relationship with Knighton, Omar, White, and Coach Rhule. They made me a priority to them, not just being instate but priority to them as a person and player. Staying close to home was a big thing with me and my family. Growing up in Nebraska and always watching them play was awesome. So having the chance and then being able to commit to Nebraska was awesome. I know Coach Rhule wants to win, and I want to be in that process of bringing back championships and winning with them.”

Nebraska makes Terry feel at home + their plan for him in the defense

“My relationship with Nebraska head coaches is special, I know I can come up to Nebraska at any time. I can call them at any time. I’m most close with Omar or Knighton. The plan with me is to play interior defensive line in the 3-3-5. And play fast and physical.”

The Nebraska defensive lineman joins coach Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers 2025 class. He is accompanied by three-star safety Caden VerMaas.

Terry ranks as the No. 415 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 41 defensive lineman and the No. 3 player in the state of Nebraska.

He received his first scholarship offer after his freshman season from Nebraska.”

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
