3-star CB D'Andre Barnes commits to Nebraska

Aurora (Co.) Regis Jesuit three-star cornerback D’Andre Barnes has announced his commitment to Nebraska. He chose the Cornhuskers after taking an official visit to Lincoln on the weekend of Jan. 28
Barnes is the No. 1,434 overall prospect and No. 125 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 11 player in Colorado.
On3 rates Barnes higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Barnes is the No. 77 cornerback in the country and No. 4 player in Colorado.
During the 2022 season, Barnes caught 37 passes for 785 yards and nine touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, he recorded 55 total tackles and six interceptions.

Nebraska is the Colorado native’s only Power Five offer. Other schools to extend them include Air Force, Bowling Green, BYU, Nevada and Wyoming.
Barnes is now one of multiple cornerbacks in Nebraska’s 2023 recruiting class, alongside Miami (Fla.) Miami Palmetto three-star Dwight Bootle II, Hermitage (Tenn.) IMG Academy three-star Syncere Safeeullah and Roswell (Ga.) three-star Ethan Nation. Bootle II and Safeeullah have already enrolled with the Cornhuskers.
