Denim Dawson on why he chose Nebraska
“Nebraska’s playstyle is very similar to my AAU team,” Dawson said. “Coach (Fred) Hoiberg flew out like a month ago to see me…He and Coach Matt (Abdelmassih) fell in love with my game and they offered me within the next two to three days. I felt like a priority with them. It was real and there was a lot of love. They are what I was looking for in a school. They’re losing about seven players. I just felt like it was the right place.”
What does Dawson’s expected role on the team as a freshman?
“I just expect to play hard,” Dawson said. “Whatever they need me to do, I’ll do. Whether it’s defensively or offensively. I’m going to come in with a lot of confidence to help Nebraska win in any game we’re lined up to play.”
