Dylan Raiola appeared to injure his shoulder during Nebraska’s game against Ohio State in the fourth quarter. Following an incomplete pass, Raiola absorbed contact and went to the medical tent on the sideline.

At the time, Nebraska trailed Ohio State 21-17 with 4:35 to play in the game. After Raiola came out of the tent, backup quarterback Heinrich Haarberg resumed his warmup throws, per Amie Just of the Lincoln Journal Star.

FOX’s Jenny Taft had more on the broadcast.

“Well obviously a really good sign, Gus,” Taft said. “Raiola out of the medical tent. They were evaluating that right shoulder. It almost appeared to be the joint area below the collarbone. He was in a significant amount of discomfort at first. He is back on the bench. He was doing some more film review. This guy is tough and he wants to finish this one out.”

Raiola would reenter the game once Nebraska got the ball back after forcing an Ohio State punt.

At that point in the game, Raiola was 18-of-28 passing for 137 yards and ran for 31 yards. Nebraska’s lone touchdown was scored by running back Dante Dowdell.

Raiola just led Nebraska to a 17-14 lead before Ohio State answered on the ensuing drive. He appeared to hurt his shoulder and collarbone area on the Huskers’ next drive, going three-and-out, punting it back to Ohio State.

The downfield attack was hit and miss throughout the game and Raiola discussed that aspect of the offense prior to the game against the Buckeyes.

“It starts with me and kind of directing things,” Dylan Raiola said. “It’s a good challenge and I look forward to accepting it. Our guys can run and I just have to do better at getting the ball down the field to them and allowing them to go make plays and showcase their abilities. So, I’ll take that one on me.”

Through all of that, the passing game and Raiola have struggled in the past couple of weeks. In Nebraska’s last two games, Raiola didn’t thrown a touchdown but threw four interceptions, three of which came against Indiana.

In the win over Rutgers, Raiola had a career low in completion percentage and passing yards.
