Heading into his unofficial visit to Nebraska last weekend, Bixby (Okla.) four-star offensive tackle Broderick Shull was considering the Huskers and a few other programs for his fourth official visit.

Shull had already locked in trips to Auburn (May 31), Texas Tech (June 14-16) and Texas A&M (June 21-23). What he saw in Lincoln opened his eyes though, and the Huskers made a strong impression.

So much so that they’ve now locked in his fourth official visit, he told On3’s Chad Simmons, which will take place next weekend, May 10-12.

“My visit there was phenomenal,” he told Simmons after the visit. “I like the coaches, the facilities are great and it was a great experience.”

The 6-foot-5, 275-pounder had been on campus in Lincoln twice before — once to watch a game as a fan during his freshman year and again as a recruit.

“The second time I visited, they were almost done with the locker room and everything,” he told Simmons prior to the visit. “This time I think they’ll be done. Even when they just started building their facilities, I was so impressed with everything else. And I really like what the coaches are doing there, and the town and the campus give me a good vibe as well.”

As it stands now, Auburn holds a healthy lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), but after his visit to Nebraska and the Huskers locking in his first OV, the gap looks to be closing fast.

More on Shull’s other top contenders

Shull also broke down what stands out about the three schools he’s already locked in for official visits:

Auburn: “It blew me away. The facilities are one of the top in the country, and the coaches are really good. Other than that, I just got a really good feeling there. They have that southern vibe like in Georgia and Alabama, with the trees and it’s near water. It’s just beautiful down there. The towns around that give that hometown, small town kind of vibe, too. I got a really good feeling from the fans and the campus.”

Texas Tech: “I’ve been there four times or so. I love how they work together and how they’re basically family. Each and every one of them cares about each other, and Coach McGuire is one of the best coaches I know who talks with the players and works well with them. He was texting me today, and he’s the kind of guy you’d go to a bar and drink with. He’s an awesome, straightforward guy. He gives off the best vibes, and they’ll work hard. It was one of the most intense practices I’ve seen.”

Texas A&M: “They impressed me a lot too, and they’re striving for national championships. And they look like the type of team who will get that, too. They have impressive coaches from Duke and players too, and they’ve improved the team in general. Duke before those coaches came struggled a bit but once they were there, they really brought them up. I have good faith in both the head coach and the O-line coach, and they work well together.”

The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 5 offensive tackle in the 2025 class, according to the latest On300 rankings.
