Four-Star CB Mario Buford commits to Nebraska
Four-star cornerback Mario Buford of Desoto (TX) High announced his commitment to Nebraska Thursday night.
The 6-foot, 170 pounder chose the Cornhuskers over Oregon, Michigan State, and Penn State.
Buford on why he chose Nebraska
“Everything about Nebraska made sense,” Buford said. “In college I want to be where I’ll be in the best position to be great whether that’s on the football field or in life, and I feel like Nebraska paints that picture perfectly. They have a great staff who truly believe in me, and will do their best to develop me to the fullest of my potential. And they put their athletes in so many great positions they make it almost impossible to fail.”
Coaching staff played a huge role in his decision
“Coach Coop, and coach Rhule, along with the whole coaching staff, showed day in and day out how much they wanted me to be a Cornhusker. When I went on the official, they truly knocked it out of the park, and showed me everything I would need to make a decision.”
The Lone Star State cornerback joins coach Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers’ top 25 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star safety Roger Gradney, three-star quarterback Daniel Kaelin, and others.
