The Nebraska Cornhuskers entered this season poised to right the ship this season but now look like they may remain at the bottom of the conference. The Cornhuskers lost their season opener to Northwestern in another close game. And in their second home game of the season, Nebraska has fallen to the Georgia Southern Eagles 45-42.

The Cornhuskers’ defense struggled all night to stop any part of Georgia Southern’s offense. The Eagles recorded a total of 642 yards total offense. Quarterback Kyle Vantrease passed for 409 yards with one touchdown through the air. And Georgia Southern also nearly had two running backs rushed for over 100 yards. With this second loss of the season, the fate of Cornhusker football is now uncertain, especially head coach Scott Frost.

Offensively, Nebraska did everything it could to with the game, even putting together a late drive to take the lead 42-38. Quarterback Casey Thompson was 23 of 34 on the night with 318 yards through the air and one touchdown; he also tacked on three rushing touchdowns. And star running backs Anthony Grant and AJ Allen combined for over 200 yards on the ground and a touchdown a piece.

But not everybody involved in the game had a bad time. Of course, Georgia Southern was thrilled to pull off the upset. To celebrate, the fun was taken to Twitter, with a graphic to troll Nebraska in a classic way.

Captioning the tweet “AWWW, SHUCKS,” there was an eagle grabbing a piece of corn as well. All in all, the perfect way to troll the Cornhuskers. You can see the tweet below.
