Georgia transfer safety Justyn Rhett signs with Nebraska

Former Georgia safety Justyn Rhett will transfer to play for Nebraska this upcoming season, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported Saturday. Rhett played the past two seasons with the Bulldogs and brings three years of eligibility with him to Lincoln.
Rhett played in a total of four games during his short time in Athens, including two this past season. He ends his career there with three total tackles.
The 6-foot-1 safety came to Georgia with high hopes as a four-star prospect out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. He ranked as the No. 355 overall player and No. 40 cornerback in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t ever able to find much of a role with the Bulldogs and will now seek to finish out his college career elsewhere.

Rhett is the eighth transfer portal addition for Nebraska this cycle and the first defensive back it has brought in. He ranks as the No. 483 overall player and No. 63 transfer cornerback according to On3’s Transfer Portal Player Rankings.
In addition to the eight players that have joined Nebraska in the portal, the Cornhuskers have also lost 22 players. That means they still have a lot of ground to make up even with this signing as they rank No. 64 in On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.
