Idaho DB transfer Andrew Marshall commits to Nebraska
Idaho defensive back Andrew Marshall announced his commitment to Nebraska on Christmas Day in a tweet.
The talented defensive back plans to suit up for the Cornhuskers next fall, giving Matt Rhule‘s squad a capable piece in the defensive backfield.
Andrew Marshall was regarded as one of the best defenders for Idaho in 2024, as he played 800 snaps, logging a grade of 75.8 on PFF. The Eastvale (Calif.) native played his high school football at Eleanor Roosevelt and has two years of eligibility remaining.
He has logged 66 tackles, a forced fumble and eight passes defended over the last two years. He has also served as a return man, tallying 14 punt returns for 150 yards and a touchdown, as well as nine kick returns for 373 yards and a touchdown.
Marshall had previously visited Nebraska as he searched for a home out of the NCAA transfer portal.
Prior to enrolling at Idaho, Andrew Marshall was an unranked prospect in the On3 Recruiting Rankings. He was only rated by 247Sports during the recruiting process, with that outlet tapping him as a three-star prospect with an 82 grade.
Nebraska adds electric receiver transfer
Andrew Marshall isn’t the only recent transfer portal addition for the Cornhuskers, as they also added one of the SEC’s best receivers in recent days.

Kentucky Wildcats wide receiver Dane Key is taking his talents to Lincoln, committing to join Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers via the NCAA Transfer Portal.
In three seasons with the Wildcats, Key totaled 126 receptions for 1,870 yards and 14 touchdowns. He’ll be looking to bring that same juice to the Cornhuskers in 2025.
As a recruit, he was the No. 266 overall prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as the nation’s No. 45 wide receiver and the No. 1 prospect in Kentucky.
The combination of Dane Key and quarterback Dylan Raiola could be an explosive one for Nebraska. It’ll certainly be exciting to see the duo get acquainted over their time together in Lincoln.
