Mickey Joseph shares what fan support means to him
Nebraska has had a tough season, even after Scott Frost left the program. For the sixth season in a row, the Cornhuskers will not be making a bowl game and possibly are looking at another nine-loss season in the face. Even so, fans have been there to support interim head coach Mickey Joseph since taking over in September.
Joseph took time to share what the support from the Nebraska faithful has meant to him. Although, he did eventually deflect away from himself, saying it’s all about helping the players go out there and get a win. Either way, he’s thankful fans have been there through a rough patch this year.

“You appreciate the support,” Joseph said. “You know? You appreciate the support. I’m sure Trev and them are going to do the best thing for the university but always appreciate the support. My thing is — I’m trying to help these kids move along and try to win a game and not focus about us. Because it’s not about me. You’re happy that you have the support that you have.”
Nebraska will play its final regular season home game of the year against Wisconsin on Saturday. Next time they play a game at Memorial Stadium, there will be a new face as the headman on the sidelines.
But one thing is for sure — Joseph will have the respect and support of fans throughout the entire state.
Mickey Joseph confirms Casey Thompson will start vs. Wisconsin
Nebraska will start quarterback Casey Thompson for the final two games of the season, interim head coach Mickey Joseph confirmed on Thursday.
According to Joseph, Thompson’s proved that he’s ready to go as he’s participated in practice this week. The Huskers host Wisconsin for a 12 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday.

“He threw the ball well today,” Joseph said. “I hope he wakes up feeling the same way. I hope he wakes up feeling good. The last three days have been enough for me to see.”
The newly-rehabbed QB missed the last two games after starting the first eight. He racked up 2,023 pass yards, 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Ready to play at a high level once again, Thompson will attempt to pick up right where he left off. The interim head coach has no concerns about his QB being about to do just that on Saturday.
“Casey’s played a lot of football,” Joseph said. “This is not his first rodeo. He’s played a lot of football so he can pick up where he left off at.”
