Isaiah Neyor on his motivation entering 2024 season: 'I'm so hungry'
Transfer wide receiver Isaiah Neyor is coming into the 2024 season as one of the key wide receivers on the Nebraska Cornhuskers‘ offense after he struggled to get on the field since the 2021 season.
Neyor knows that he’s going to be a major factor on the offense for Nebraska, and as he recently explained, his hunger to get back and compete is a key part of what motivates him.
“I’m so hungry. It was tough having to miss those two seasons,” Isaiah Neyor said. “So, as I was going through that, I’m just sitting there, it’s just building up and building up. Now that I finally have the chance to come out there and compete at a stage like this, it’s just great. So, I’m super excited for the season and I’m excited what we can do this year.”
Isaiah Neyor was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2019, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He began his career at Wyoming where he spent three seasons and was Second-Team All-Mountain West. He then transferred to Texas but suffered a torn ACL that cost him his 2022 season and he eventually transferred to Nebraska following the 2023 season.
Over the course of his career, Neyor has played in 21 career games. He has 53 career receptions for 1,140 yards and 12 touchdowns. The majority of that production came in 2021 with Wyoming.
This past spring, head coach Matt Rhule shared what he thinks Isaiah Neyor is going to bring to the Cornhuskers’ offense.

“What we wanted – and Isaiah was a guy that could take the top off in coverage. Two years ago here, they had Trey Palmer. They went to Iowa, beat Iowa and really it was because he ran by them. Neyor brings to us a guy at six-foot-three, 220 pounds who’s a 4.3 player. He has got good ball skills,” Rhule said.
“If you’re going to try to play man coverage, we want to try to run by you. If you’re going to try to play quarters coverage, we want to try to run by you. We weren’t really able to do that very much last year – here and there we could. That’s what Isaiah brings.”
Isaiah Neyor praises Nebraska’s quarterback room
Going into the 2024 season, Nebraska has a quarterback battle to sort out. Still, Isaiah Neyor is confident in the entire quarterback room.
“They’re all great,” Neyor said. “Each and every one of them, they have a great arm. Things have just been going great. I’m just glad to be out there with those guys and I’m having fun with them.”
