Arlington (Texas) Martin three-star tight end Ismael Smith Flores just received an offer from Nebraska yesterday, and there’s now a leader in his recruitment.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Huskers now hold a 77.4 percent chance of securing his commitment. That change follows two expert picks from On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman and HuskerOnline.com recruiting insiders Sean Callahan and Bryan Munson.

Smith Flores is the No. 568 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 32 tight end and the No. 95 senior recruit in the state of Texas.

On3, however, is higher on him than other recruiting services, as shown in the Industry Comparison. While he isn’t ranked in the 2023 On300 rankings, Smith Flores was tabbed as the country’s No. 22 tight end recruit and No. 79 prospect in the Lone Star State.

Nebraska, along with Iowa, Rutgers and Washington, are recruiting him the heaviest right now, he told HuskerOnline.

“I am going to be on a visit to Nebraska next weekend,” Flores said. “We already set that up. I am taking an official visit to Rutgers this weekend, in three days. I am still considering Iowa and I have some things in the works with Washington. I’ve already taken an official visit to Iowa.”

Smith Flores is in his first year of playing organized football after transferring from Seguin High to Arlington Martin before his senior season. His coach at Martin, Bob Wager, recently took a job on coach Matt Rhule’s staff at Nebraska.

“I am hearing that I am a flex tight end,” Smith Flores said. “Schools see me as a player in that role that they can move all around the field to get me the football. That is what coach Wager is thinking at Nebraska too. This season he was telling me how I could take my game to the next level and we had more of that conversation today.”
