Keisei Tominaga celebrates after converting four-point play on Senior Night
Keisei Tominaga is celebrating his final game inside Pinnacle Bank Arena with a Senior Night performance against Rutgers. It has featured his usual magic and highlights, including a great celebration after finishing on a four-point play.
Tominaga put up a three off a broken action with six minutes to go during the second half versus the Scarlet Knights. The officials called a foul on Noah Fernandes before he sank it and brought the Cornhusker crowd to their feet. That then led to a great reaction from the Japanese senior as even he seemed to not believe the play he’d just made.
That shot and free throw from Tominaga put Nebraska back up 61-48 after the margin had gotten back to single digits. It’d stay at double figures from there on as the ‘Huskers took it by a final score of 67-56.
Tominaga finished as the game’s leading scorer with 18 points on 6-13 (46.2%) shooting and five makes from the free-throw line. What made this three-pointer so miraculous too is that it was his lone make from distance on the day of six total attempts.
11 of those points for Tominaga came in the second half over the course of 3:52. That was a crucial part of the game when Rutgers was making a run at it.
With it being his final home game with the team, Tominaga got to perform in front of his family. They themselves provided similar great reactions in the stands to his play this evening in Lincoln.

Tominaga was one of four seniors that the program celebrated this evening on Senior Night. Josiah Allick, C.J. Wilcher, and Jarron Coleman joined in as part of the festivities too on a night when the team went to 21-9 overall with the 11-point win.
Tominaga has always been one for theatrics with how he plays the game and the excitement that comes with it. That included one of his final plays in their home arena in front of their fanbase that has supported him since his arrival three seasons ago.
Juwan Gary ends half with one-handed, putback slam
Juwan Gary has had himself some highlights during this season with Nebraska. Now, with a play that he made this evening against Rutgers, he may just have his best of the year.
The Cornhuskers just entered the half with a 37-25 lead over the Scarlet Knights. The margin reached that dozen after Gary came flying in and caught a miss from Brice Williams with one hand. He then threw it back in with emphasis at the rim with less than a minute before the break.
The play was so good that the program’s social media account went ahead and deemed it as the dunk of the year.
