Kentucky Wildcats wide receiver Dane Key is taking his talents to Lincoln, committing to join Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers via the NCAA Transfer Portal.

In three seasons with the Wildcats, Key totaled 126 receptions for 1,870 yards and 14 touchdowns. He’ll be looking to bring that same juice to the Rebels in 2025.

As a recruit, he was the No. 266 overall prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as the nation’s No. 45 wide receiver and the No. 1 prospect in Kentucky.

The combination of Dane Key and quarterback Dylan Raiola could be an explosive one for Nebraska. It’ll certainly be exciting to see the duo get acquainted over their time together in Lincoln.

McCullough finished his second season with the Sooners during the 2024 season. However, his career began in the Big Ten with the Indiana Hoosiers. He will have one year of eligibility remaining to play for Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers.

This past season, McCullough played in seven games for the Sooners. He recorded 17 tackles and three tackles for a loss. Injuries were a problem for the versatile defender earlier in the year, as he was unable to make his season debut until the Red River Shootout against Texas on Oct. 12.

Coming out of high school, however, McCullough was recruited as a defensive back — particularly at the safety position. He opened up about moving around the defense during this past regular season.

Before college, McCullough was a four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 97 overall player in his class.
