Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule put a damper on his players using TikTok around the facility. But then, he did one with volleyball star Harper Murray.

Sure, it was all in good fun for Rhule and Murray. But he went against his own TikTok policy! In all seriousness, Rhule had some explaining to do and was getting ribbed by his players of course.

But, it looks like Rhule had a loophole for the TikTok dance he filmed. Rhule was going to go viral though, he had to know that!

“I walked to the training table, and Harper was like, coach, we need to do a TikTok,” Rhule said. “And, I mean, my wife doesn’t have any social media, right? And, like, within 15 minutes, that’s how fast it went, and the players, like, you know, they’re losing their minds because they’re like ‘you did it in the facility’ And I said, No …I did it in the concourse, which is a public area, so I had to defend myself on that.”

At least Rhule got his daughter’s approval for going on TikTok and being one of the young people! The Huskers coach took it in stride and even suggested himself for a popular TV show.

“For a second, my daughter’s like, that was really cool,” Rhule said. “And then, I found out, I guess there was millions and millions of views. My daughter thought it was really cool. Then she realized it was Harper, not me, but yeah, so I think I was one and done with that … Then I had people go ‘coach, are you really going to be do ‘Dancing with the Stars?’’ So, which I think I could do that, honestly.”

After recently downloading TikTok to discover what his nine-year-old daughter was up to on the wildly-popular social media app, Rhule learned the TikTok influence had already infiltrated the Nebraska football locker room, much to the 50-year-old Cornhuskers head coach’s chagrin. Naturally, this led to his initial disdain.

“I walked into the training room the other day and Harper Murray, our All-American volleyball player was sitting there with my 9-year-old. She said, ‘Coach Rhule, we’re going to go do a TikTok’ – now I’m anti-TikTok, I won’t let the kids have it – and my 9-year-old is like, ‘What are you going to say to Harper?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, have fun,’” Rhule revealed during a Thursday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. “So I’ve had to download TikTok and I found my daughter all over (it), she finds people in the facility, I thought I saw 35 of my football payers doing TikToks. (And), one of them did it in the facility, which is a hard no.”
