Matt Rhule, Nebraska name CJ Cavazos as new Director of Football Relations
Matt Rhule has already made a lot of changes in Lincoln. With him coming back to the college game after the era of NIL and the transfer portal had begun, the new Nebraska head man has had to adjust from even his first stint in college football.
Now, he has added someone who can further help him to do that. As of today, Rhule and Nebraska have hired CJ Cavazos as Nebraska’s new Director of Football Relations.
Cavazos has been an executive with the XFL for the last year. The XFL tasked him with talent acquisition as Director of College and Professional Relations. That came naturally after he had spent over two decades in the recruiting world and building rapport with programs, coaches, and players.
Now, Rhule will have Cavazos in a similar position in order to recruit and help build his first teams at Nebraska.

“Sources: The #Bears are expected to name Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren as their new president and CEO,” tweeted Rapoport. “A major hire for the organization and for Warren, who spent time in the NFL prior to college football as a top executive for the #Vikings.”
Later, the Bears confirmed the news, tweeting, “We have named Kevin Warren as our next President & CEO.”
Warren is replacing Ted Phillips, who announced his retirement at season’s end after 39 seasons with the team. Phillips played a critical role in turning the Bears into one of the most valuable franchises in the NFL. The team came in as the sixth-highest valued team in the league in August, according to Sportico. He also got the ball rolling on a potential move to Arlington Heights, a Chicago suburb, and a new stadium.
