Nebraska interim head coach Mickey Joseph shared good news regarding the availability of Broc Bando and Omar Manning in Week 10. The Cornhuskers are preparing to face Minnesota on Saturday and both players will play, according to Joseph.

“Yes, they should be available,” Joseph told reporters on Thursday.

Nebraska right guard Broc Bando started the first six games of the season but missed the last two due to injury.

Meanwhile, wideout Omar Manning suffered his injury in early October and has only recorded stats in two games this season. The senior has three catches for 24 yards after a 2021 season that saw him post 26 catches for 380 yards and two touchdowns.

The good news about the two offensive contributors comes after Joseph shared that quarterback Casey Thompson is still a game-time decision.

Nebraska kicks off against Minnesota at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday in Lincoln.

Joseph confirms position change for Jailen Weaver

On Tuesday, Joseph confirmed that defensive lineman Jailen Weaver will switch positions and join the Cornhusker’s offensive line unit. Joseph was asked about the switch and said that the position change was actually Weaver’s idea during their bye week.

“He came to me,” Joseph explained. “He called me on a Saturday afternoon on our off week and said, ‘I want to meet with you’.”

Weaver was a 3-star prospect out of high school from Antioch high school in California and was ranked a top 100 player in the state according to On3 Consensus. In his two seasons with the Cornhuskers, he’s seen limited action, just appearing in one game during his redshirt freshman year versus Fordham and recording one tackle.

Weaver has the potential to make an impact for Nebraska’s offensive line in the future, and has the frame to do so, standing at a towering 6-foot-8, 345 pounds.

“So I was happy that he said he wanted to get over there and help us, I think he’s gonna be a really good o-lineman once Donnie gets him and trains him a little bit,” Joseph said.
