Former Florida State, UCF cornerback Brandon Moore officially transfers to Nebraska

Brandon Moore has officially transferred to Nebraska, the program announced via Twitter on Monday evening. The Cornhuskers will be his third program, previously playing defensive back UCF and spending time at Florida State.
The connection between Nebraska and Moore not only comes from head coach Scott Frost but also cornerbacks coach Travis Fisher. Moore spent one season at UCF before following Frost to Lincoln before the 2018 season. Now, the two will be back together, hoping to make the most out of Moore’s final season of eligibility.
Moore is best known for intercepting Joe Burrow when LSU and UCF faced off against one another in the 2019 Fiesta Bowl. He wound up scoring a touchdown on the play, giving the Knights a 14-3 lead at the time.
Moore was originally a member of the 2016 recruiting class, playing for two seasons under Frost. He tore his ACL early in 2019, meaning his game action has been limited over the past few years. He entered the transfer portal in January 2021 and ultimately decided on Florida State.
However, Moore never played a snap for the Seminoles, leaving Tallahassee in August 2021. After spending nearly a year without a program attached to his name, Moore will be a Cornhusker this season.

Frost has been one of the more active head coaches in the transfer portal, with Moore making addition No. 16 of the offseason. He is not the first Florida State player in the class either, with quarterback Chubba Purdy also trading the Sunshine State for the midwest.
Making sure the team has gelled together has been a big deal for Frost as well. He said with so many transfers entering, having them and the players from last season feeling like one whole unit was an offseason goal. Moore is just the latest edition but he won’t have as much time as everyone else has.
Nebraska is just two weeks away from getting their season kicked off, traveling across the Atlantic Ocean for a Big Ten matchup vs. Northwestern. Moore will have to get himself acclimated to the program quickly as he enters his sixth year of college football.
