Nebraska announces the death of former football player Cole Pensick
Former Nebraska offensive lineman Cole Pensick died Saturday at the age of 32. The Huskers announced the news Sunday on social media.
Pensick was 32 years old.
“Mourning the loss of one of our own,” Nebraska Football tweeted. “On behalf of the Nebraska Football program, our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends & teammates of former Husker lineman, Cole Pensick, who passed away yesterday at the age of 32.”
He died Saturday in a one-vehicle car crash in Nebraska with Polk County Sheriff’s Office saying that he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pensick played for the Huskers from 2009-2013. As a redshirt senior, Pensick was the program’s starting center and earned All-Big Ten second team honors from the conference’s coaches.
He played in 32 games over his time in Lincoln, Neb., where he grew up and attended Lincoln (Neb.) Northeast.
Pensick majored in agribusiness.
