Nebraska safety Koby Bretz is back in the transfer portal with a “do not contact” tag, On3’s Pete Nakos reported Saturday. Bretz had previously entered the portal on Dec. 12 but withdrew his name on Friday.

Now just one day later, he has changed his mind again and is back in the portal. He spent four seasons with the Cornhuskers, appearing in 17 games, and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Bretz ends his career in Lincoln with six total tackles, including one for loss. He earned three of those tackles this past season as he appeared in five contests.

As a recruit, Bretz was a three-star prospect in the 2021 class out of Westside High School in Omaha. He ranked as the No. 702 overall player and No. 56 player in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Koby Bretz is the 24th overall player and the fourth defensive back to enter the transfer portal from Nebraska. Additionally, the Cornhuskers have added 11 players and rank No. 54 in On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

Nebraska is coming off of a 7-6 finish to the regular season in its second season under Matt Rhule, including a win against Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday.

The portal officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.

So far this cycle, 2,293 players have entered the transfer portal with 757 of those already having committed to new schools.

Nebraska WR Isaiah Neyor enters NCAA Transfer Portal after declaring for NFL Draft

Nebraska wide receiver Isaiah Neyor has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. Neyor declared for the 2025 NFL Draft only three days earlier.

Neyor had a productive season for the Cornhuskers after transferring in from Texas. He hauled in 34 passes for 455 yards and five touchdowns during his lone season in Lincoln.

“To my family, your love and support have been my anchor and I am beyond grateful,” Neyor wrote in his NFL Draft announcement. “Most importantly I thank God for giving me the strength, guidance, and favor to walk this path. With that being said, I am proud to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.”

Neyor began his career at Wyoming in 2019. He played in one game during his first season, taking a redshirt in the process.
