Nebraska offensive lineman Turner Corcoran kept things short and sweet when speaking to media following the first day of Cornhuskers’ fall camp.

Corcoran has proven to be one of the most versatile offensive linemen on the roster, making starts at numerous positions on the offensive line throughout his career. And after the team’s first practice, he was asked which positions on the line he believes he’ll be working at with the season approaching.

“They’re going to put me wherever I feel like they need me,” Corcoran said. “So right now I’m just playing where they need me.”

For the past two seasons, Corcoran has come up big for Nebraska, playing a multitude of different positions to combat the teams injuries struggles on the offensive line. In 2021 he started in nine games at left tackle and two games at right tackle, then last season Corcoran made three starts at left guard before starting the final nine games at left tackle.

He was also asked what position he worked at during the first day of fall camp, not specifying which side of the offense line he’s been working from.

“Tackle,” Corcoran said.

Corcoran has his spot on the offensive line secured, as he led all Nebraska offensive linemen last season with 739 snaps, allowing just four sacks and seven quarterback hits on the year. But there are some question marks and competition on the offensive line heading into the season, the Cornhuskers lost center Trent Hixson and guard Brock Bando from last season from their starting unit.

Some younger talent and new transfer portal additions like Ben Scott from Arizona State and Jacob Hood from Georgia will compete for playing time during fall camp. But Corcoran’s positional versatility could be a valuable resource for the Cornhuskers’ offense as they look to find their best five offensive linemen with the season right around the corner.

Donovan Raiola expects to see a big improvement from Nebraska’s Turner Corcoran

Matt Rhule made some changes to Nebraska’s coaching staff upon his arrival, but made sure to hold on to offensive line coach Donovan Raiola after maintaining a productive unit last season in a year riddled with injuries. And on ‘Huskers Radio Network‘, Raiola spoke highly of Corcoran and what he’ll be capable of this upcoming season.

“Turner is a special, special young man,” Raiola said. “He’s really taken on a leadership role being up front and he does it by setting the example and he’ll speak up when he needs to. I’m excited for Turner. He’s working on his strength, working on his mobility, all those good things. So, we’ll see a big improvement with Turner as well.”
