Freshman quarterback and former five-star recruit Dylan Raiola issued a call to action to Nebraska fans on Thursday ahead of the arrival of Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle recruit David Sanders Jr. in Lincoln.

Sanders is set to visit both Nebraska and Tennessee this weekend as he prepares to make his college decision on August 17. Sanders will choose between Nebraska, Tennessee, Ohio State and Georgia.

Raiola made sure to spread the word of Sanders’ visit on Thursday in hopes of enticing the star pass protector to come to Lincoln permanently.

“HUSKER NATION!! Let’s welcome David Sanders HOME to Lincoln!” Raiola wrote on social media. “Meet us outside the new Tom Osborne complex at 5:15pm tomorrow!! Calling all Husker fans GO. BIG. RED. I’ll be picking him up at Omaha Eppley at 1:30pm. Let’s show him some love!!”

Raiola flipped from Georgia to Nebraska just ahead of Early Signing Day in December before enrolling at Lincoln for spring ball. Raiola is battling incumbent Heinrich Haarberg for the starting job this fall.

Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day’s David Sanders is the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect, No. 1 offensive tackle and top recruit from North Carolina in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

More on Nebraska’s pursuit of David Sanders

He took an official visit to Lincoln in the spring. After the family’s last trip to campus, Sanders’ mother spoke to On3 about the trip.

“We had a great weekend at Nebraska,” Sanders’ mother said. “We had an opportunity to spend time with head Coach Matt Rhule. He and his staff were extremely grateful that we spent the weekend with them. All the coaches spent a lot of time with us explaining how David would be a game changer to the program.

“Now in finding out that David was the highest-ranked prospect to ever visit Nebraska in the internet era was a total shock. David is truly a unique player and person. We as a family have been blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity to allow David to see this recruiting process through.”

Nebraska was not initially part of the final group of schools on Sanders’ list this spring, but made the cut earlier this month.
