Nebraska guard Gavin Griffiths has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Griffiths spent one season with the Cornhuskers after starting his career at Rutgers.

Griffiths in a former four-star recruit, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 42 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class, and No. 8 shooting guard.

He averaged 2.1 points per game, including 1.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists during his lone season in Lincoln. He played in just 16 games during the 2024-25 season, and did not suit up for the Huskers during the College Basketball Crown this offseason.

Griffiths was slightly more productive during his time as a Scarlet Knight. He averaged 5.8 points per game as a sophomore across 32 appearances as a true freshman. He started in three of those matchups.

He is the first player to transfer away from this past season’s Nebraksa basketball roster. This year’s team finished with a 17-16 overall record, including a 7-13 mark against Big Ten Conference competition.

As of Wednesday, March 26, over 1,250 Men’s College Basketball players have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. That number is expected to grow as the 2024-25 college basketball season nears its end.

The transfer portal wire provides a real-time feed of player activity, including basic player profile information, transfer portal ranking and original On3 Industry recruiting ranking, as well as NIL valuation (name, image and likeness).

Central Michigan transfer forward Ugnius Jarusevicius commits to Nebraska

Central Michigan transfer forward Ugnius Jarusevicius is taking his talents to Nebraska, committing to join the Cornhuskers per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. He excelled last season with the Chippewas, earning first-team All-MAC honors while averaging 16.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Jarusevicius played high school basketball at Kaunas Varpas (Alytus). He did not have a star-rating in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Prior to Central Michigan, the forward suited-up for the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners.

After averaging 4.4 points and 5.5 points respectively over his two seasons with Cal State Bakersfield, Jarusevicius broke out last season with Central Michigan. His points per game tripled, although the Chippewas only went 14-17 on the season. Moving forward, he could be a valuable addition for Nebraska’s mission.
