Nebraska WR Alex Bullock enters NCAA transfer portal

Nebraska wide receiver Alex Bullock has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Bullock is a former walk-on to the Cornhuskers program.
Bullock spent two seasons with the Cornhuskers, catching 16 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown. Most of that production came during his freshman season.
He was a two-way star in high school, playing at both the wide receiver and at the cornerback position. Out wide, he caught 54 passes for 765 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior. Defensively, he logged 35 tackles to go with five interceptions and eight pass breakups.
Bullock was unranked coming out of high school, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. Other than walking onto Nebraska, he also had the option to join South Dakota State’s roster.
The COVID-19 pandemic did hinder his ability to become recognized at camps and other such events. So he tested his luck player for Matt Rhule over the past two seasons.
“I felt like I deserved some of the stuff that I didn’t get in high school,” he said during his freshman season in 2023. “I don’t look back on it and sulk. So I just take it as a chip on my shoulder and moved on and I’ve taken that chip here to Nebraska and tried to prove myself to those other schools that maybe passes up on me, try to show them like, ‘You missed out.'”

The Cornhuskers compiled a 12-13 record during Bullock’s two seasons on the roster. That included a 7-6 record this season, and an appearance in the Pinstripe Bowl, where they bested Boston College 20-15 to round out the season. He was able to play on the team at the same time as his brother, linebacker John Bullock.
With two seasons of college football under his belt, there Bullock will now test his luck in the NCAA transfer portal. He will have multiple years of eligibility to play for his next program.
