Nebraska wide receiver Jaylen Lloyd has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Lloyd caught 13 passes for 255 yards during the 2024 season. Across two seasons under head coach Matt Rhule, the sophomore wideout has 19 receptions for 492 yards and three touchdowns.

Those three touchdowns all came during his true freshman season. He was a big-play threat, catching six passes for 237 yards and the three scores. His longest touchdown score was 73 yards.

Lloyd was a three-star recruit in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 1,037 overall player in his cycle and the No. 154 wide receiver.

The portal officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.

That means roughly 25 percent of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

Nebraska DB Koby Bretz re-enters transfer portal with do not contact tag

Nebraska safety Koby Bretz is back in the transfer portal with a “do not contact” tag, On3’s Pete Nakos reported Saturday. Bretz had previously entered the portal on Dec. 12 but withdrew his name on Friday.

Now just one day later, he has changed his mind again and is back in the portal. He spent four seasons with the Cornhuskers, appearing in 17 games, and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Bretz ends his career in Lincoln with six total tackles, including one for loss. He earned three of those tackles this past season as he appeared in five contests.

As a recruit, Bretz was a three-star prospect in the 2021 class out of Westside High School in Omaha. He ranked as the No. 702 overall player and No. 56 player in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
