PJ Fleck shares special message for Mickey Joseph after Minnesota vs Nebraska
For the first time this season, Nebraska took a lead into halftime when it brought a 10-0 advantage into the locker rooms. That lead vanished quickly, though, as Minnesota rallied to leave Lincoln with a 20-13 victory.
Still, Golden Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck had a special message for Nebraska interim coach Mickey Joseph after the game.

“You’re gonna be a hell of a head coach,” Fleck told Joseph, via 3 News Now Omaha’s Adam Kreuger, as they embraced at mid-field.
Joseph took over as interim head coach after Nebraska fired Scott Frost on Sept. 11 and has done some big things with the program. Not only did he fire defensive coordinator Erik Chinander, but he’s also helped the Cornhuskers bring in a couple big commitments on the recruiting trail. The most notable name is Malachi Coleman — the No. 71 player in the nation, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

It’s unclear, however, if Joseph will become the Cornhuskers’ full-time head coach. While he’s still in the running, a report from FootballScoop’s John Brice said Nebraska athletic director Trev Alberts is doing his due diligence on outside candidates.
Brice reported former TCU coach Gary Patterson and former Baylor and Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule are both under consideration for the job. Army head coach Jeff Monken is also in the mix, according to Brice.
Brice also reported if Nebraska decides to hire a coach other than Joseph that they’ll keep him on the staff. As part of Joseph’s restructured contract after becoming interim coach, he’d go back to associate head coach and wide receivers coach if the Cornhuskers look outside the program for their next full-time head coach.
