Rhonda Revelle: It's an exciting time for Nebraska softball after adding Jordy Bahl
Nebraska has been building a solid softball program for the last few years under legendary coach Rhonda Revelle. After missing the NCCA Tournament every year from 2017-2021, the Cornhuskers have made the tournament the past two seasons and won the 2022 Big Ten conference tournament. And now Nebraska has two-time first-team All-American Jordy Bahl.
The Cornhuskers landed Bahl out of the transfer portal in June in one of the most consequential transfers in college softball history. Suffice to say, Revelle is feeling good about where he team is at.
“The talent that Jordy brings from an athlete’s perspective is unmatched,” Revelle said in a press conference following Bahl’s announcement. “But I think you just heard the human being that we’re adding to this already really high-character team. The timing for her coming into this program, I think, is actually perfect. This culture is healthy. It’s really healthy. It’s vibrant. A lot of people have done a lot of work to get us here. We’ve had two really strong years on the field and you add an arm like Jordy Bahl with the returners that we have that have had a lot of success on the field. It’s an exciting time for Nebraska softball. It’s exciting time for our staff and those that get to take the field with her.”
Bahl is a two-time Women’s College World Series winner with Oklahoma, winning the Women’s college World Series Most Outstanding Player award this past tournament. She was the National Freshman of the Year in 2022 and the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year in 2022 and 2023.

For her career, she has a 44-2 record in 71 games with 46 starts. She has struck out 397 batters in 288.2 innings with a 0.99 ERA and .153 batting average against.
She hopes to continue that success for the Huskers in the future. Nebraska, coming off a 36–22 season and fourth place finish in the Big Ten, has the talent to become a formidable team led by Bahl.
“I don’t know, this team has a lot of strengths, and so I don’t want to walk in and in any way feel like I’m over-stepping anything. That’s not what I want to do,” Bahl said. “I just want to come into this program and help in whatever way I can. I just think our team is going to work hard all season, to just leave it all out there.”
